​Saraland Soccer Academy operates recreational soccer for the City of Saraland, Alabama. This is a program designed for players of all skill levels from ages 3 to 15. Our mission is to foster a love for soccer while developing important life skills such as teamwork, physical fitness, and sportsmanship.

Age Groups & Structure

​

We offer age-appropriate training and competitive play for kids of all abilities:

• Tiny Tots (Age 3): This low-commitment, one day a week program is a fun introduction to soccer through games that develop coordination, balance, and basic ball skills. Emphasis is on fostering a love for the game while learning teamwork and social skills.

• U6 (Under 6 on Jan 1): This group focuses on developing foundational soccer skills like dribbling, passing, and shooting. Practices are held one day per week and mostly consist of gamified drills to make skill building fun.

• U8 (Under 8 on Jan 1): Players at this level begin to focus on positioning, ball control, and passing. Practices are held twice per week and coaches work on improving individual skills while introducing tactical elements through small-sided games.

• U11 and U15: At this stage, players refine their skills and place more of an emphasis on team tactics. Our older players may use our league to keep their skills sharp in between school seasons

Coaching Philosophy

At all levels, our volunteer coaches are asked to de-emphasize game results and focus on the long term development of each player, regardless of their starting skill level.

 

Game Day

Saraland Soccer Academy prides itself on providing an organized and .enjoyable game day experience for our players, coaches, and parents. The vast majority of our games take place on Saturday mornings between the hours of 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM. Our complex is located at 907 Shelton Beach Road, Saraland, AL 36571
